DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 18 (MExN): The Arunachal TCL Naga Hoho has expressed support to the Naga Hoho in “full spirit and action.”
A press release from the Arunachal TCL Naga Hoho said that the consultative meeting of all Naga stakeholders of the Naga peace talks was welcome news for all Nagas across Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Myanmar.
“It was hoped that, there will be productive discussions and the road to signing a Peace Accord with the Government of India will be relatively shortened,” it stated.
However, it expressed concern that the consultative meeting “ended with the apex Naga body, the Naga HoHo, compelled to walk out of the meeting.”
“The Naga Hoho is the body that represents all Nagas from different areas and it is imperative that it is accorded equal, if not more credence and respect as other NNPGs/CBOs etc. It is unfortunate that the consultative meeting chair failed to do so which forced the Naga Hoho delegation to walk out on the meeting,” the press release said.
The Arunachal TCL Naga Hoho said it is “a collective responsibility of all Nagas to achieve Peace which is long due and such differences will only make it so much harder. It is time Naga unity takes over differences.”
