As festive season approaches, govt reiterates to maintain COVID SOPs 

Peren, Kohima DCs issue orders 

Peren, December 14 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier NCS on Monday reiterated that the existing guidelines on vaccination/testing conditions are to be strictly adhered and “there is need to take additional measures in view of the festive season approaching and the likelihood of increase in the number of large public gatherings and road travel by people across the district.”

In a notification, the DC Peren directed all international travelers to report immediately to the DTF control room on arrival. 

All SDTF are directed to intensify their efforts further by forming surveillance teams for regularly inspecting public gatherings in their jurisdiction and checking the participants vaccination/testing condition and adherence to COVID-19 appropriate behavior. “If any violation is found, then immediate action against the organizers and participants are to be taken according to the standing government directives under the relevant laws,” the DC stated. 

He directed that the teams formed should also regularly inspect the passenger vehicles, in particular, those entering the district at the check post (Mhainamsti and Heningkunlwa), and random checking at the Sub- division level within the district, only the passenger(s) having requisite documentary evidence may be allowed entry. 

The teams so formed should also ensure that all person(s) in public places are also wearing mask. “Action is to be taken against those found not wearing mask and a penalty of Rs 200 is to be imposed every time the offence is committed,” he added.  

All SDTF shall submit report to NSDMA on the number of teams formed and submit report once every two days on the number of public gatherings inspected, the number of vehicles checked, both within the district, and at the check gates and the number of person(s) found violating vaccination/testing conditions, not wearing mask, violating COVID-19 appropriate behavior and the actions taken against them. 

KOHIMA: The Deputy Commissioner Kohima Gregory Thejawelie NCS has informed all concerned that passengers plying in vehicles, both private and public, and gatherings in public places have been allowed beyond 50% and upto 100% capacity subjected to strict compliance with vaccination/testing conditions in Kohima district. 

All passengers/attendees of public gatherings within Kohima district should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or should have taken the first dose of vaccination against COVID-19, and at least fifteen days should have passed since taking the dose, and further subject to adherence to COVID-19 appropriate behavior, particularly wearing of masks.

In the case of road travel also the aforementioned conditions have to be fulfilled by the driver(s)/ attendant(s)/passengers(s) and if none of the vaccination criteria are fulfilled, then the driver(s)/ attendant(s)/passengers(s) should carry a COVID-19 negative test report taken through either RT-PCR/TrueNat/CBNAAT with the swab taken for testing not earlier than 72 hours from date of travel.

It is also reiterated that any persons not found wearing mask in all public places within Kohima district shall be penalized an amount of Rs 200.

Failure to comply with the aforementioned is also liable to penalty as per provisions of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code. 

This order was issued in pursuance to the directive of the Government issued vide No. NSDMA-ER-COVID19/301/2020 (Part-Il) Dated November 27.
