The inaugural edition of Yajen Aier Award, an initiative of Asetkong Mungdang was held today at Asetkong Mungdang Senden Salang, Kobulong under Mokokchung district.
The award was instituted by Asetkong Mungdang with the motto “Reinvigorating Teaching and Learning” and accords awards to distinguished students from Asetkong range for their meritorious achievements under Nagaland Board of School Education examinations.
The Award is divided into two categories, that is, state level Toppers in Class 10 and Class 12 examinations and Meritorious Students Awards for Classes 8, 9 and 10 exclusively from schools under Asetkong range. The Award carries cash rewards and citations, said S. Temsu Aier, the convenor of the Asetkong Mungdang Education Award Committee.
The Awards were presented today for the academic session 2019-20 in the presence of Limasangba, Sr. SDEO, Mokokchung.
Meritorious Student Awards for Classes 8, 9 and 10 for students from schools under Asetkong range were all bagged by Clark Memorial Higher Secondary School, Impur. As of date, there are nine institutions under Asetkong range offering High School and Middle School courses under NBSE.
Recipients of the Meritorious Student Awards for Class 10, Class 9 and Class 8 were Toshisangla of Clark Memorial Higher Secondary School, Impur hailing from Mopungchuket village, Rongsenpoker of Clark Memorial Higher Secondary School from Sungratsu village and Temsuyanger of Clark Memorial Higher Secondary School, also from Sungratsu village, respectively. There were not recipients for the state level Topper awards this year. The inaugural Asetkong Mungdang Yajen Aier Award was sponsored by Temsuba Aier IPS, IGP Nagaland and his family.
