ASF restrictions lifted in Signal Angami Village

Dimapur, July 31 (MExN): The Dimapur district administration has lifted the restrictions imposed in and around Signal Angami Village following the successful completion of surveillance for African Swine Fever (ASF) and confirmation that no fresh cases have been detected.

According to an order issued by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, the restrictions imposed on May 20 have been withdrawn with immediate effect based on a report submitted by the Chief Veterinary Officer, Dimapur.

With the lifting of the restrictions, the ban on the movement, transportation, sale and slaughter of pigs and pork products has also been withdrawn, allowing normal piggery-related activities to resume.

The order, however, advises farmers to continue observing standard biosecurity measures and follow advisories issued by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services. The Chief Veterinary Officer has also been directed to continue routine surveillance and immediately report any suspected ASF cases.
