Kiphire, March 18 (MExN): The District Planning Development Board (DPDB) meeting reviewed in detail the ongoing 'Aspirational District' projects being implemented by various departments on March 16 at DC’s Conference Hall Kiphire.
The meeting was attended by V Kashiho Sangtam, Minister for Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining, NSMDC who is also DPDB Chairman and T Yangseo Sangtam, MLA.
Various implementing departments gave detailed presentation with regard to the progress made in implementing and utilizing of funds under the Aspirational district programme.
The Minister and the MLA urged the implementing agency to judiciously make use of the funds for the development of Kiphire and see to it that projects and schemes are being implemented without being compromised.
Addressing the meeting, the DPDB chairman welcomed the new Deputy Commissioner Kiphire and expressed hope that his stay in Kiphire would benefit the people of the district.
He appealed the public to extend support and cooperation towards the administration so as to fast track development activities in Kiphire taking advantage of 'Aspirational District' status.
The MLA called for monthly DPDB to be more efficient and effective so as to improve the socio-economic parameters of the district.
Emphasizing on the importance of youth and women empowerment, he called upon various departments to be proactive in addressing high unemployment rate in the district.
Apart from review of 'Aspirational District' programme, various development agendas were also discussed in the meeting.
