Zunheboto, April 28 (MExN): Personnel of the Assam Rifle, in three separate operations, arrested four persons and recovered several arms and ammunition.
A press note from the Assam Rifles PRO informed that troops of the 5 Assam Rifles apprehended one GPRN/NSCN cadre from East Colony, Zunheboto on April 27. He has been identified as Private Shepu Zhimo, (35). The AR team also recovered a .22 pistol with magazine, live rounds and one mobile phone from the cadre.
In another operation, personnel of the 19 Assam Rifles apprehended one individual identified as Aja (28) for illegal possession of weapons in Kohima recently. According to the note, one .22 pistol with magazine, 50 live rounds of .22 pistol, one DBBL 12 Bore Gun and one .22 Rifle with magazine was recovered. The apprehended individual was handed over to Kohima Police Station (South) for further interrogation and investigation.
Meanwhile, troops of the 29 Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ 6 Sector AR, launched a search operation on April 25 and apprehended two persons from Rangapahar Tinali Petrol Pump in Dimapur. The security forces recovered one 7.65mm pistol and one .22mm Pistol with magazines. The release informed that the individuals were identified as Hito Yeptho (29) resident of Zunheboto district and Henito Wotsa (34) resident of Dimapur. The apprehended persons along with the recoveries were handed over to West Police Station, it added.
