Assam Rifles carry out civic activities

Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted COVID-19 awareness campaign in the main market area of Athibung town on November 27. Troops also distributed face masks and sanitizers to the people and briefed them about various health and hygiene precautions to be taken during the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was also utilized to inform people about Sainik School registration and get volunteer students for the same. A total of 48 villagers attended the awareness camp.

Shamator, November 29 (MExN): Shamator Assam Rifles battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) carried out a focussed awareness drive and campaign targeting the remote villages of Tuensang and Noklak district.

According to a press release from HQ IGAR (N), local medical authorities and village councils were also incorporated to obtain maximum coverage and to effectively spread awareness about COVID-19 protocols.

This endeavour has made villages aware about the importance of social distancing and other protocols required to be followed to prevent outbreak or spread of COVID menace in these remote villages, the release stated.

 Dr Victor, CMO Noklak and his team was also a part of this awareness drive that covered Choklangan, Wensui, and all villages in Chingmei region.

The unit has resolved to reach out to every village in its area of responsibility before Christmas and New Year so that 2021 can be a corona free year for Nagaland, it added.

Meanwhile, the battalion also provided emergency medical aid to a young girl who got critically hurt while working in the fields at Dan (Pangsha) in Noklak district.

Seeing her serious condition and large loss of blood, the medical staff of the post immediately gave her medical assistance and carried out suturing so as to prevent further loss of blood, the release stated.
