Kohima, March 21 (MExN): Different Battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) have carried out various activities across Nagaland this week.
The activities included cleanliness drive, emergency medical assistance, dental camp and medical assistance, and so on, highlighted official releases from the PRO, HQ IGAR (N) on March 20.
Cleanliness Drive: The Kohima Battalion carried out a cleanliness drive with students of Cimorb Public School near Chakabama in Kezo Town, Kohima on March 19. A total of 44 children and 7 teachers of the school participated at the drive which among others, cleaned the school and surrounding areas.
Dental Camp: The Dental Unit of Assam Rifles conducted a free dental camp for the children staying at Eden Garden’s Children Home Khuzama Town, Kohima on March 20. The children were also educated regarding the importance of healthy oral hygiene at the camp.
A total of 263 children benefitted from the camp.
Distribution of Computers: The Ghaspani Battalion of distributed twelve Computer Sets with ancillaries for children of St Joseph’s School, Mezoma, Dimapur on March 19 , under Military Civic Action (Sadbhavna).
The aim was to facilitate and improve the quality of education being imparted to the students, PRO HQ IGAR (N) said.
Emergency Medical Assistance: The Kiphire Battalion, meanwhile, provided emergency medical assistance to a vehicle driver who was critically injured in an accident near Longmatre, Kiphire on March 19.
The driver of the truck had met with an accident on NH202 and he was brought to the COB with injuries to his head, the PRO informed.
The BFNA at the COB facilitated provision of requisite first aid at the earliest, he added.
