Assault on business man in Dimapur condemned

Dimapur, May 17 (MExN): The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) has condemned the assault on a business man at Chatteshwary Colony, Dimapur on May 16 by two miscreants without any provocation.

“Such unprovoked assault on businessmen by barging into a residence-cum-shop demanding things and the attempt to conduct unauthorized checking will not be tolerated by the DCCI,” stated a press release issued by DCCI, President, Akashe Zhimo.

It made an appeal to the law enforcing agencies to immediately apprehend the culprits. 

At a time when the entire society and the world is fighting the pandemic, such anti-social acts calls for condemnation from all quarters as it threatens to weaken the fight against the disease, it stated. DCCI also wished the victim and speedy recovery. 

DBSU: Dimapur Bengali Students’ Union (DBSU) condemned the incident stating “such barbaric and inhuman act is totally unjustifiable” and not at all acceptable when we are reeling under the threat from the COVID crisis. The DBSU in a press note issued by its Media Cell appealed to the law enforcing agencies to investigate the matter thoroughly and also plead for stringent action as per relevant provisions of law. The Union also extended prayers to the victim and wished for a speedy recovery.

DENSU: Dimapur Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union (DENSU) stated that such act of highhandedness in a society is extremely intolerable and hence all the right thinking people should condemn the same. DENSU while appreciating the law enforcing authority for suo moto cognizance and registering FIR promptly on the incident, also appealed to investigate into the matter with every possible cause of action and book the culprits and punish according to law. DENSU further prayed for recovery of the victim.

CHS: Chümoukedima Hindu Society (CHS) stated that “such heinous act is very shameful” and therefore called upon the right thinking citizens to come forward and condemn such unwarranted behavior. It urged the district administration and the police authority of Dimapur District to nab the culprits at the earliest and initiate deem fit action against them. CHS also extended prayer for speedy recovery.
