ATMA Akuhaito holds training on agri investment during COVID-19 crisis

Zunheboto, August 27 (MExN): ATMA Akuhaito block under Zunheboto district conducted one day training and demonstration on the topic “training on agriculture investment during the COVID-19 crisis to meet the local needs” at Aotsakili and Lokobomi Village on August 26. 

Kaiho Achumi, ATM Akuhaito Block, the resource person stated it is evident that the crisis is putting a lot of pressure on the financial assets of the farmers and agricultural value chains in the entire district in meeting the local needs. But the farmers should identify it as a financial opportunity and identify the sector assets that can be selectively invested such as on particular groups of vegetables, fruits and even livestock’s which the village, the district was depended on neighboring States. 

Azungla Longchar, BTM Akuhaito block was the resource person for the demonstration with the topic “cultivation practices of pea to ensure food security in the area during COVID-19”.

The programme was undertaken by following the SOP laid down by the government. It ended with discussion and feedback from farmers along with distribution of seasonal vegetables seeds suitable in the area. A total of 18 farmers attended the programme.
