Dimapur, April 1 (MExN): The State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised a two-day training programme on ‘Improving Managerial Skills for Extension Functionaries for Effective Transfer of Technology’ for Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) functionaries at SAMETI, Medziphema on March 30 and 31.
According to a press release from the SAMETI Director, the training programme was aimed at educating the participants on the key skills and work practices which would enable them to execute their official duties more efficiently and effectively.
Resource persons for the training programme were Prof Akali Sema, Department of Horticulture, Dr NK Patra, Assistant Professor, Department of Agriculture Extension, Medziphema and Dr Mary N Odyuo, Assistant Professor, Department of Rural Development & Planning, from NU: SASRD, Medziphema. Participatory lectures on Managerial Skills for Extension Professional: An Overview; Application of Management Skills in Effective Transfer of Technology; Extension Methodologies and Transfer of Agricultural Technology; Monitoring and Evaluation Skills for Effective Extension Delivery were covered during the training programme, the release stated.
A total number of 22 participants from different districts attended the training. Certificates were distributed to the participants by Director SAMETI and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Janet Chishi, DPD, SAMETI, the release stated.
