Dignitaries with participants of awareness camp on ‘Drugs and Digital Age.’
Niuland, July 24 (MExN): The Gilgal Living Prayer and Healing Camp (GLPHC) in collaboration with Living Tree Prayer Tower Ministry, Shokhuvi and Gospel Riders Ministry, organised a three day awareness camp on ‘Drugs and Digital Age’ with the theme ‘breaking the chains of slavery.’
The camp was held at GLPHC Prayer Centre, Kuhoxu, Niuland district from July 20 to 22.
The resource persons for the camp included; Dr. Althea S. Wotsa, Psychiatrist, and Totivili K, Clinical Psychologist, from Faith Hospital Dimapur.
They talked on the topic of drug abuse awareness and prevention, and psychological interventions in the treatment of substance use disorders.
Dr. Yehoto Swu Kiho talked on the topic, ‘Holistic approach to addiction recovery’ and Awoto Awomi, Convenor of Gospel Riders Ministry on ‘Drugs and digital age’ from the Biblical perspective.
The resource persons emphasized on three main processes for complete recovery, that is, physical, mental and spiritual healings. Above all seeking God, which is the best medicine for healing.
The speakers of the gospel service were Shunato Awomi, Chaplain GLPHC, Sumiholi Awomi, founder LTPT Ministry and D. Akato Achumi, State Coordinator Watchman Cell.
The special guest speakers included; Hetoi Sema, Chairman Pole Star School, Shoxuvi, Phanrumshan Khuvung, Class-1 Contractor, and Aduana Zeliang, Shekinah Glory Prayer Centre.
They shared their testimonies of how they were enslaved by drugs but were freed after they decided to give up and seek God, to come out of this bondage.
They also shared how God has blessed them and opened their ways as they gave up their old ways of life and encouraged those who are dependent on drugs to follow their steps.
Altogether 56 drug dependents attended the awareness camp as campers.
The age group of the attendees were between 15-60 years of age, of which around 50 of the campers were dependent on the drug under the code name "Shanflower."
The sole purpose of organising this camp is to save atleast one soul, and to bring awareness of this deadly disease of "Shanflower” addiction that is ravaging this present generation.
Meanwhile, the organising team thanked all the well wishers who contributed in various ways for the success of the camp.
