Zunheboto, November 18 (MExN): Awareness campaign on menstrual hygiene was held at Ngozubomi village under Aghunato, Zunheboto district conducted by the Village Health Committee coordinated with Atoni, ASHA as the resource person.
Zunheboto, CMO office District Media Officer, Keneikhrietuo stated that this campaign was organized as part of the outreach programme under National Health Project, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare
The Village Health Committee with the aid of National Health Project aims to increase awareness on healthy menstrual practices and guidance to the women flock as majority in the village are ignorant and practice poor menstrual hygiene leading to various health problems which they are unaware about.
Sanitary pads were handed out to the targeted beneficiaries funded by the National Health Project.
This campaign will be an ongoing process and the beneficiaries can utilise the service anytime through the Village Health Committee, it added.
