DIMAPUR, JUNE 24 (MExN): Advisor for Industries & Commerce and Chairperson of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Dimapur, Hekani Jakhalu, on Wednesday called upon board members to work with dedication, unity and a spirit of teamwork for the overall development of the district.
Addressing the monthly DPDB meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall, Dimapur, Jakhalu emphasised the importance of collective effort and urged officers and members to support one another and work in close coordination for the effective implementation of government programmes and developmental activities.
She noted that officers were fortunate to be posted in Dimapur, one of Nagaland's most important commercial hubs, and encouraged them to make the best use of the opportunity to serve the people.
Expressing confidence in the Board, she said all members would work together under her chairmanship over the next year and contribute positively to the district's growth and progress.
Earlier, DC and Vice- Chairperson DPDB Dimapur, Dr Tinojongshi Chang, welcomed Jakhalu as the new Chairperson and also introduced new board members, including Dimapur Municipal Council CEO Ruzonyi Wideo, Senior Treasury Officer Matsung Aier, District Agriculture Officer Viwheto Thorie and Art & Culture Department RO Nyuvisie Nyusou.
The Board deliberated on several agenda items during the meeting. Applications for registration of societies, including the Dimapur Athletic Association, Rise and Lead Foundation and Nagaland E-Sport Association, were approved and recommended, while the registration of Covenant Foundation was deferred to the next meeting.
The proposal to rename ITIKI Montessori School as ITIKI School, Darogapathar, and the proposal for upgradation of Grace Fountain School, Duncan Bosti, from Class V to Class VIII were also deferred for further consideration.
The meeting further discussed traffic congestion issues in Dimapur, with a PowerPoint presentation delivered by DCP (Traffic) Meren Chenth.
DC Chang also expressed gratidute to the DCP (Traffic) and the President of Naga Council Dimapur for highlighting proposals aimed at easing traffic congestion in the district and assured that the recommendations would be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for consideration, the State DIPR reported.
