Wokha, August 2 (MExN): Measles and rubella awareness programme was held at ADC’s conference hall, Bhandari on July 27 under the chairmanship of ADC Bhandari & Chairman of Block Task Force Committee, Tiameren Chang. He urged all the people to co-operate and support the ongoing campaign.
Dr. Lipokrenla Ao gave introduction and briefing about the Measles Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign. She informed that Measles–Rubella campaign was launched by World Health Organization and India has resolved to eliminate measles and control rubella by the year 2020.
Meanwhile, Dr. Aotula spoke on the disease and importance of MR vaccine, besides the roles and responsibilities of the elected Block Task Force Committee members. She said that MR vaccine which provides protection from measles-rubella will be introduced nationwide in schools and through outreach.
