The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) today undertook a cleanliness drive in Kohima town as part of the forthcoming Sekrenyi festival 2021. Sekrenyi, which falls on February 25, is the premier festival of the Angami Nagas.
The social work was carried out in collaboration with Kohima Municipal Council and Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries along the stretch of Kohima town - from Lerie to High School area and from TCP Gate to Paramedical Colony.
Talking to The Morung Express, AYO president Kekhrie Pfukha thanked KMC, KCCI, 3rd Assam Rifles, Fire Brigade, EE Municipal Affairs Division, Roads & Bridges south division, District administration, officers’ hills youth, hospital colony youth and all four ranges SAYO, NAYO, WAYO and CYO for the success of the cleanliness drive. AYO resolved to remove the old rickety vehicles/structures which have been stranded on the road/highway for too long, and which have been obstructing the smooth flow of vehicular movement. Meanwhile, it was informed that AYO will be celebrating Sekrenyi 2021 on February 25 at Kisama from 11:00 am onwards. Nagaland Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports Er Zale Neikha will grace the celebration.
