Rajasthan Aushdhalaya Pvt Ltd, a leading manufacturer of herbal medicines based on Ayurveda organised a ‘Doctor’s Samman Samaroh’ in Dimapur on June 18. According to Biplab Paul, Area Sales Manager, the programme was organised to honour the contribution of AYUSH doctors to healthcare delivery in the country.
He said that the company, certified by WHO and catering to over 30 countries, traces its early years to 1952. It specializes in extract-based medicines and over the years has diversified its portfolio of medicines for treatment and management of various ailments, including de-addiction remedy.
While stating that the company has associated with over 45,000 ayurvedic doctors till date, he claimed that its medicines have helped treat millions of people in India.
Dr Gwachung Magh, Medical Officer (Ayurveda), Integrated AYUSH Hospital, Chedema, who was among the AYUSH doctors honoured by the company, informed that Nagaland has 30 registered working AYUSH doctors. Speaking on behalf of the Ayurvedic Doctors Association, Nagaland, admitted that the Ayurvedic system of medicine has not had much foothold in the state in comparison to other states. Despite, he said that the Ayurveda doctors here continue to tirelessly promote Ayurveda among the people here.
He said that the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the weak points of “our health system” inspite of all the modern technology, while Ayurveda, with its age old “principles of treatment” has aided in curbing COVID.
As an association, he said that one of its objectives is to monitor and maintain the standard of Ayurvedic doctors and their practice in Nagaland. It also organised awareness campaigns, including sensitizing the public on illegal and inappropriate use of ayurvedic medicines, while guarding against quacks practicing without legitimate degree.
