Mumbai-based animal rights activist Hema Choudhary’s bail application has been heard and order is reserved for next week. A magistrate here told The Morung Express that the bail application was heard at a special court in Kohima on August 20 and confessional statement was taken on August 21. As per procedure, the order will be passed next week.
On whether the bail application will be granted or rejected, the magistrate said that it will depend on the facts and circumstances of the case and other factors to be considered during bail. The animal rights activist who was arrested on July 17 on charges of making derogatory remarks targeting Nagaland was brought to Kohima by the Nagaland police on July 20. She was remanded to judicial custody on August 4 after completing police remand as per procedure.
