Dimapur, August 17 (MExN): The Balijan Bridge at Vihokhu village has been swept away after the natural calamities hit hard again on August 16. Minister PHED, Jacob Zhimomi on receiving information rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.
PA to Jacob Zhimomi in a press release stated that accompanied by ADC Niuland and EE PWD, Dimapur the Minister inspected the affected areas. He also directed to start urgent works while temporary measures will be taken shortly for light motor vehicles to ply if the rain ceased. Meanwhile the Minister also interacted with the residents of nearby villages, who shared their grievances and how it would affect their daily livelihood.
The damaged bridge serves as life line for more than fifty villages and also the only proper road which leads to ADC, Headquarter Niuland.
