Zunheboto, January 24 (MExN): The Zunheboto Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised two-week bamboo craft workshop for physically disabled and financially challenged people at Zunheboto from January 11 to 23.
HQ IGAR (N) in a press release stated that “the workshop was organised with a vision of mastering skills of bamboo craft to explore alternative sources of livelihood and promoting the natural flair for bamboo craft in the local population. This endeavour would promote both local handicraft culture as well as generation of employment.”
A total of 52 persons including 12 women were given training on carving, weaving, painting and furniture making etc, it added.
