Battle of the Bands: Beat contest for college & higher secondary students

The Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland in association with Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) Nagaland is organizing beat contest billed as “Battle of the Bands” for college and higher secondary students.

The winner will win a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh while 2nd and 3rd place will receive Rs. 70,000 and Rs. 50,000 respectively. There will be five consolation prizes of Rs 10,000 each.

Bands have been asked to bring their own personal music gears.

Drum set will be provided by the organizers.

Band must comprise only of the members from the college/higher secondary school they represent.

The organizer is inviting band from Kohima, Dimapur, Tseminyu, Chümoukedima, Niuland, Wokha, Zunheboto, Peren, Mokokchung, Longleng, Phek, Mon, Tuensang, Noklak, Shamator and Kiphire.
 
Audition Round
Bands are requested to upload a short performance/practice video on their personal or band Instagram page and tag @tafmanagaland with #YRSBC23, phone number, name of band, name of college/higher secondary school and district, on or before 20th August, 2023.

 A panel of judges will select 16 bands for the live performance round to be held at RCEMPA, Jotsoma on the 9th of September, 2023.
 
Second Round
16 selected bands will perform on 9th September at RECEMPA, Jotsoma starting 9:30 AM and 8 bands will be selected for the finals. All bands are to perform 2 songs of their choice (cover/original).
 
Final Round
Final round will be held on 9th September at RCEMPA, Jotsoma at 4 PM onwards. The final round will feature the 8 finalists. Bands are to perform 2 songs of their choice (cover/original).
