The Bharatiya Christian Manch, Nagaland State, organised a pre-Christmas celebration programme Wednesday evening at Hotel Saramati, with the theme ‘For unto us a child is born.’
Vice president, BJP national and advisor, BCM Nagaland, Dr M Chuba Ao, the special guest of the celebration in his address highlighted on the objective of BMC. Chuba said BMC is not a political party or wing of any political party but an NGO striving to bring love, peace, harmony and brotherhood amongst various sections of people and faiths in India.
He said fundamentalism and radicalism are responsible for destroying peace and a grave threat to the 'unity in diversity' that is India. The BJP national vice president said BMC Nagaland has a herculean task ahead to act as a bridge between different faiths, religions and cultures.
Rev Fr CP Anto in his message said goodwill is the most important thing that binds people and when goodwill is passed from person to person, there is always peace. Rev Anto stressed that religious tolerance is the need of the hour and in this respect, he said Nagaland is one of the most religious-tolerant states in India.

Convenor, BCM Nagaland, Er Longshi Kikon, who delivered the welcome address said BCM Nagaland was launched in March this year. Kikon said the main objective of BCM Nagaland is to spread love and peace, irrespective of faith or culture.
Earlier, pastor of Dimapur Phom Baptist Church, Hamba Namdakly invoked God's blessings and Miss Asher presented a special song. Co-convenor, BCM Nagaland, Dr Temsuwati Lkr, proposed vote of thanks. Executive member, BCM Nagaland, O Still Phom, chaired the celebratory programme.
