‘Be job providers, not job seekers,’ students advised at LFHSS

Kohima, March 18 (MExN): Strive to become job providers instead of job seekers, students attending an event commemorating the 75 years of India’s Independence at Little Flower Higher Secondary School (LFHSS) Kohima were advised on March 18.

John Makhabo, Director in-charge Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Nagaland stated this while speaking on the topic ‘Role of Youth in Nation Building’ and emphasising on the importance of becoming self-reliant.

He was taking part in a panel discussion as of part of the last leg of the Neighbourhood Youth Parliament in celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence (Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav) organised by NYKS, Kohima in collaboration with LFHSS on March 18.

The other panelist of the one-hour discussion Narotola Imchen, Asst Teacher, Dept of History, LFHSS shared on  “Indian Freedom Struggle: Life, Journey, Philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and Subhash Chandra Bose.”

During the same, she gave a perceptive take on Gandhiji’s life and his journey towards India’s freedom struggle as well as on Bose’s contribution towards India’s freedom struggle, an NYKS press release informed.

Teachers along with 104 students participated in the session, it said.  NYKS’ Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav celebration kicked off in Nagaland on March 12 with a march by over 150 volunteers from National Service Scheme (NSS) and Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), it added.
