Bible Society of India opens branch in Changtongya

Changtongya, October 16 (MExN): The Bible Society of India (BSI), Dimapur Auxiliary inaugurated BSI Changtongya Branch at Changtongya Town Baptist church on October 15. There are 18 churches under Changtongya Branch. 

BSI Mokokchung Branch Secretary, Temsu shared, “Bible is the backbone of believers. It is a great blessing if someone could hear the Word of God and be saved through the contribution of individuals and churches.”

Marwati, Resource Mobilizer stated that the BSI India provide the Bible to believers at affordable price. “The society needs the prayer support of all the believers. The contributions will help someone to get Bible in his/her own language,” he stated. 

Rev Yiepetso Wezah, Auxiliary Secretary mentioned that there are many works to be done. According to Indian Government data, there are 1,652 recognized languages in India. Out of which the Bible Society of India has brought out 74 full Bible and additional 92 New Testament. There are 81 translations undergoing. “Only with the support of the Churches the Great Commission can be fulfilled by bringing the Word of God to every nation, tribe and language,” he stated. 

The following persons were appointed as office Bearers of BSI Changtongya Branch- President Rev T Aliba, Associate Pastor, Changtongya Town Baptist Church, Secretary Matsung, Pastor, Changtongya Yimsen Baptist Church and Treasurer Mao, Pastor, Longchara Baptist Church.

Wapang, Treasurer, BSI Mokokchung Branch chaired the meeting. Rev Repa Pastor, Nukshiyim Baptist Church invoked God’s presence. Rev Temshi, Pastor, Changtongya Town Baptist Church extended welcome address. Offertory prayer was pronounced by Rev I Wati Jamir, Pastor Changtongya Baptist Church and L Amenla Pongen Associate Pastor said the benediction.
