Bike-truck collision: 2 killed

DIMAPUR, MAY 1 (MExN): A tragic road mishap on Sunday evening resulted in the loss of two lives. The accident occurred near the 4th Mile junction at around 4:30 pm when a truck (NL 03 A 1278) and a motorcycle (NL 07 J 2704) met with a head-on collision. Two persons riding the two-wheeler were killed – one on the spot and the other in the hospital. There were three persons on the motorbike at the time of the accident. The third person was seriously injured.
The deceased were identified by relatives as a Md. Saddam Hussain and one Oqais Ahmad, both in their late teens. The latter is a higher secondary student of Bethesda Higher Secondary School, Dimapur while the former was said to have been here on holiday from Bihar visiting his father. They were residing at Walford, Dimapur. The injured person admitted at Zion Hospital & Research Centre was identified as one Jugnu (25 years).  
According to the relatives the three were coming towards Dimapur and the truck was approaching from the opposite direction. The cause of the collision could not be ascertained. The driver of the truck was taken into custody by the police who was later identified as one Viboto Sema.
