Wokha, November 2 (MExN): The BJP 39-AC Mandal Office was inaugurated on October 30 at Sanis under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, marking a milestone for the party in the constituency.
Rhanbemo Odyuo, President of BJP Wokha, presided over the inauguration and hoisted the party flag, while Nzano P Kikon, Deputy Chairperson, Wokha Town Council (WTC), officially opened the office by cutting the ribbon. The office was sponsored by State President Shri Benjamin Yepthomi, who paid the house rent until December.
In his inaugural address, Odyuo congratulated the Sanis 39 Mandal for establishing the office despite challenges and financial constraints. He highlighted the contributions of BJP pioneers like Pius Lotha, who contested the MP election in the 1990s from Lakhuti Village, 39 Mandal, and lauded Deputy Chief Minister Shri Y. Patton for his developmental initiatives across constituencies. He expressed hope that a BJP candidate from 39-AC will secure a future electoral victory and encouraged party workers to actively participate in state and national initiatives to strengthen leadership skills.
Several leaders spoke at the event. Nongothung Kikon, Senior Vice President, BJP Wokha, urged party workers to understand BJP guidelines and work toward societal betterment. Ekonthung Kikon, President of 37 Tyui AC, lauded the new office as one of the first of its kind at the Mandal level in Wokha district and anticipated increased member enrollment. Jenithung Lotha, President 38 Wokha AC, credited current leaders for the office’s establishment and expressed optimism for future achievements. Deputy Chairperson Nzano P Kikon acknowledged potential challenges but urged cooperation and support for grassroots growth.
The inauguration, chaired by Mhademo Lotha, G/S 39 AC, included a dedication by Rev Khodao Mozhui, Pastor, Hachang Baptist Church. John Patton was inducted as Secretary during the programme.
The event also featured the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan Vidhansabha Sammelan, with a keynote address by State Council member Rentsamo P Jami. He recounted the party’s humble beginnings in the Mandal and credited Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton for its progress. The session concluded with all karyakartas taking the Atmanirbhar pledge, chaired by Yanthanshan Yanthan, IT Cell Convenor of 39 Sanis AC Mandal.
The programme was attended by BJP office bearers, councillors from Wokha and Bhandari, and state office bearers.
