BJP Mokokchung district workers along with ex Minister Nuklutoshi Longkumer, the in-charge of Mokokchung district, celebrating Advent Christmas programme at Jentisang Resort, Ungma on Monday, December 13.
Mokokchung, December 13 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party, Mokokchung District celebrated advent Christmas at Jentisang Resort, Ungma which was attended by hundreds of karyakartas from all the Mandals and Morchas with Ex-minister, Nuklutoshi Longkumer, the BJP In-charge of Mokokchung district, as the special guest.
Longkumer said that the protracted Naga political issue which has been going on for the past many years has been a stumbling block towards the whole round development of the state. He lamented that the Naga political problem, despite more than twenty years of peace talks is yet to reach its fruition. He, therefore, asked the karyakartas to be practical and to look at the issue from a pragmatic point of view.
He said that only an acceptable political settlement would usher in positive development and progress in the state.
While speaking about the BJP’s prospects in the next election, the BJP Mokokchung district in-charge said that the party is confident to contest all the seats in the upcoming 2023 elections. Nuklutoshi, therefore, asked all the karyakartas to be prepared.
The President of BJP Mokokchung district, Imolemba Jamir said that the advent Christmas programme was initially scheduled to be held on December 7. However, the programme had to be postponed in the wake of the violence in Mon district. Jamir called for a minute of silence as tribute to the lives lost.
The programme also saw special presentations by the Mokokchung District Disabled Forum (MDDF) while the vice-president of BJP Mokokchung, I LanutoshiLongkumer delivered the Christmas message.
The programme was chaired by Meyisenla, president of Mahila Morcha, BJP Mokokchung while former president and SEM RN Nungsang invoked God’s blessings. The Kisan Morcha president, Tiayanger Jamir exhorted the programme.
