The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Zonal Office, North East in its horizon series programme presented “Blending Melodies” in collaboration with Concordia Academy of Music at ‘Where is the Food’ premises, Kohima on August 26. It is a cultural exchange programme through music.
The artists who performed in this event included Dziese Rutsa, Pfuchaziinuo, Mengubeinuo Mere, Azonuo and Atuonuo Rutsa, Visetuo Chiipuo and special appearance by Coloured Keys.
N Munish Singh, Regional Director, ICCR graced the event as the chief guest. “Music is universal language,” he said.
Singh said that ICCR is under Ministry of Extenal Affairs and works with Ministry of Culture. “We use to identify good artists so they can represent the community, state and the country and can go anywhere in the world to perform,” he said.
He informed that ICCR empanelled artists to perform outside the country. Tetseo Sisters performed once abroad through ICCR, he said.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Khrietuo Kenneth Pienyii while Siirhiiveyi Tetseo, Managing Director, De Operattas Institute Kohima invoked God's blessings.
A 20 years research book on social practices of forefathers entitled “Tsiepfumia Zhowe” by Khriesaneisa Rutsa was also released on the occasion.
The event was compered by Mmhatsu Humtsoe while vote of thanks was proposed by Avi Rutsa, proprietor Concordia Academy of Music.
