Maligaon, August 26 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has cancelled two trains, rescheduled three and regulated another amid ongoing restoration work near New Harangajao station following the settlement of railway tracks on Line-1 and Line-2.
Train operations over the Lumding-Badarpur Hill Section are currently being maintained through Line-3 with enhanced safety measures, the NFR said in a statement on Wednesday.
In view of the ongoing restoration work, the railway has announced the following changes in train services:
Cancelled trains: Train No. 15615 Guwahati-Silchar Express, commencing journey on August 27, has been cancelled. Train No. 15616 Silchar-Guwahati Express, commencing journey on August 28, has been cancelled.
Rescheduled trains: Train No. 15650 Narangi-Agartala Express, commencing journey on August 27, will depart from Narangi at 6:30 pm. Train No. 14619 Agartala-Firozpur Cantt Express, commencing journey on August 27, will depart from Agartala at 7 pm. Train No. 15608 Silchar-Thiruvananthapuram Central Express, commencing journey on August 27, will depart from Silchar at 10:10 pm.
Regulated train: Train No. 12503 SMVT Bengaluru-Agartala Humsafar Express, which commenced its journey on August 25, will be regulated suitably en route, the NFR said.
The railway said restoration work is continuing near New Harangajao station and train operations are being maintained with enhanced safety measures.
