BLK Hospital launches OPD services at Eden

BL Kapoor Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi, one of the largest private hospitals in the country has launched its OPD Services in Dimapur in collaboration with Eden Medical Hospital (EMC), Dimapur.  

Addressing a pressing conference at EMC on Friday, doctors from BLK Hospital and EMC said that the OPD Services will start from December 8. The doctors would come once in a month on rotational basis and their availability would be notified in the local dailies from time to time.  

BLK Hospital announced the launch of its services along with its flagship community outreach campaign, “Know Cancer – No Cancer.” Managing Director, EMC, Dr. Lima Imchen said the service was being launched to provided the much needed care for cancer treatment in Nagaland where there is dearth of super speciality doctors. He noted that many cancer patients were going outside the state for treatment but added that patients could now avail consultations and treatments in the state without spending extra money.  

Dr. Dharma Choudhary, Senior Consultant & Director, BLK Centre for Bone Marrow Transplant said that their focus was to provide cancer care in Nagaland and also to provide guidelines for patients on how to go about with their treatment. “Those cases which can be treated in Dimapur will be done here itself but there might be cases where the patients have to go out,” he said and assured of providing every possible care. Dr Choudhary and his team has carried out more than 1000 Bone Marrow transplants.  

Dr. Manav Wadhawan, Director, BLK Institute for Digestive & Liver Diseases said they were trying to build a relationship with the people. “We are here to help and to strengthen medical services.” He noted that alcoholic liver diseases were increasing in the country and that they were trying to manage all problems which do not require transplants. He said that the figures were alarmingly rising owing to people giving less importance to pre-diagnosis of cancer. He said that the BLK Hospital has made significant progress in treating critical liver diseases offering latest endoscopic treatment for Gastro Intestinal diseases including colon, gall bladder and pancreatic cancers. “This collaboration is the beginning of a long term relationship and we are here for long term,” he added.
