Peren, March 18 (MExN): ‘Boinu’, a theatre show was staged by St Joseph School, Songlhuh at Songluh and Jalukie Town on March 16 and 17 at the close of a 15-day theatre-workshop facilitated by North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur.

Kilangtemsu Imsong and Tiawapang Aier directed the play which depicts the life story of a little girl, whose parents busy with field works sidelined her only to find her spending time with a piglet as her friend. She comes across a magical stick which takes her and the piglet into an imaginary world.

The play, with a variety of characters, carried enlightening insights on conservation of nature, aforestation and other themes.

Cultural dances and special performances were presented by the students of St Xavier College, Jalukie. Rev Fr Benny, Principal and organizer of the programme thanked NEZCC Dimpaur, the directors, St Xavier College and other colleagues for creating and facilitating the platform, which is relatively new to the region.
