Boy scouts of SMHSS represent NE at International Adventure Programme

Dimapur, February 16 (MExN): The boy scouts of St Mary’s Higher Secondary School (SMHSS), Padum Pukhuri, Dimapur took part at the 22nd International Adventure Programme and the 2nd SAANSO (South Asian Association of National Scout Organizations) Adventure Camp held at BSG National Adventure Institute, Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh from February 2 to 8.

 


Students along with scouts and guides from across the states of India represented the country in the programme.
Six scouts from Nagaland were - Hika G Kinny, Hikivi A Zhimomi, Amunoto Assumi, Abito K Zhimo, Vitsumong Y and Sunil Mech, led by scout master, Khamgailung (Akham). These boy scouts were reportedly the only delegates from North East India.

 


A press release from scout master, Khamgailung, the International Adventure Programme is meant for scouts and adult leaders from 12 to 45 years of age and consists of series of physically challenging and high adventure activities covering land, sea and air.

 


The Indian scouts interacted with scouts of different nations and partook in mountaineering, rappelling, hot-air ballooning, water skiing etc.

 


The scouts acknowledged Sister Ancita Jacob, Principal of SMHSS, an active supporter of the Scouts and Guides Movement for facilitating their participation in the programme.
