Zunheboto/Kohima December 3 (MExN): The 37 and 111 Battalions of the Border Security Force (BSF) celebrated its 59th Raising Day respectively at Chedema, Kohima and Satakha, Zunheboto on December 1.
In Chedema, the occasion was marked by engaging Ex-BSF personnel and their family members residing around the locality with honouring them for their contribution towards safe-guarding the nation.

A press release informed that Vinod Kumar, Commandant 37 Bn BSF, graced the occasion, who graced the occasion saluted all the BSF troops for their commitment towards securing the country as India's First Line of Defense and a record of multi-role operation like maintaining internal law and order, curbing terrorism and working 24x7 under hostile conditions.
The day's event was observed by exchanging cultural presentation from both Ex-BSF personnel and in-service BSF Jawans which was followed by a 'Bada Khana' (feast) for all the attendees, it added.
Meanwhile, in Satakha, the celebration commenced with a cultural programme showcasing the rich heritage of the BSF followed by bara khana during which ex-CAPF personnel, families of BSF martyrs and civil dignitaries were invited.
On behalf of all the ranks, Sanjay Tandan, Commandant, 111 Bn BSF welcomed all the guests present on the occasion and gave a historical perspective of the raising of the BSF, the pivotal role played and its immense contribution to all facets of National security right from the day of its raising.
According to a DIPR report, the Commandant also added that the tremendous potential of the BSF is backed by resolute action and determination due to which the force has been bestowed with the status of a dependable warrior and will always live upto its motto of “Jeevan Paryant Kartavya.”
