Advisor to Chief Minister, Technical Education and Election, Nagaland Medo Yhokha today called for the jubilee celebration to usher into long lasting unity, fertility, peace and harmony as a way of life not just on the occasion but for permanence and progress of the society in general.

Yhokha was speaking at the Platinum Jubilee of Khami Makhu Unity, Kigwema at Kigwema Village Council Hall on December 27.

He took the attendance to reflect on the depth of situations that prevailed prior to when people and communities had yet to forge for peace. Communities, villages or people at large maintained hostile relationships for which societies were at loss and lacked prosperity, he opined.  A century ago or 75 years past or beyond, Yhokha said the world was in a phase of darkness. He pointed that with time, people realized the need to venture peace. For which he said, small communities such like this had contributed to the broader forum of peace.

Looking at the present society, Yhokha however, lamented that the world has unprecedentedly progressed in technology and critical thinking, but care and compassion was often found missing which otherwise was upheld by elders and people in the past.

The programme was chaired by Dr Neisakho Kere and Rev Viketou Kiso prayed for the programme. The programme saw cultural presentation and speeches from elders and community leaders.
