
Dimapur, August 24 (MExN): A team from the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employee’s Association (CANSSEA), led by its President Zubemo Lotha Tsanglao, attended the All India State Government Employee’s Federation (AISGEF) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at Sukumolsen Bhavan, Faridabad, from August 15 to 18.
During the meeting, the CANSSEA team presented a brief report of the state with reference to the recent AISGEF National Strike, implementation of the universal health insurance scheme under CMHIS, and the regularization of contractual employees.
In a women subcommittee meeting, Joint Secretary of CANSSEA, Toshinaro Jamir, made a presentation on the status of women, their role in preservation of traditional attires, and other practices of women employees in Nagaland.
Some of the other agenda items discussed at the NEC included Central Pay Revision, Dearness Allowances, Health Insurance, Health and Education, membership campaign and fees, Conference of Affiliates, Employees Forum Magazine and Literature, Library, Contractual Employees, National Conference, Cultural programmes, media cell, and amendment of the constitution.
The NEC meeting also nominated four members to the post of AISGEF office bearers to fill up vacancies. In what CANSSEA described as a proud moment, its President, Zubemo Lotha Tsanglao, was inducted as one of the secretaries of AISGEF.
Another highlight of the meeting was the inauguration of the AISGEF library on August 16 at Sukumolsen Bhavan by K. N. Umesh. On the occasion, Umesh also delivered the Arabindo Ghosh Centenary Lecture.
Delegates from the North East states, under the umbrella of NESGETUF, also held a special meeting with the President and General Secretary of AISGEF. Various issues pertaining to the service matters of employees in the North East states were deliberated. It was decided that the next NESGETUF meeting will be held in Meghalaya at the earliest.
