KOHIMA, MAY 1 (MExN): The Capital College of Higher Education Kohima signed an MoU with the Centre for Integrated Counselling Services (CICS) on April 29. The primary objective behind the MoU is to address the growing need to cater to the emotional, social and behavioral needs of the students. 

The signing of the MoU was held in a formal event at the College premises with Dr Rukulu Kezo Puro, Head, Department of English as the chairperson. The Dean of Students, CCHE, Tatongkala Lemtur pronounced the opening prayer which was followed by Dr Zokho Venuh, Principal, CCHE delivering the welcome address. 

In his welcome address, the principal expressed his gratitude towards CICS for agreeing to become partners in transitioning towards a more holistic approach to education. He also encouraged the students to break free from the conventional stigma that surrounds the idea of seeking counselling help. He stressed on the need and importance of seeking help for one’s own wholesome development. 

Kariu Kamei Koza, the Managing Director, CICS in her address deliberated on the relevance and significance of counselling in today’s society. She stated that everybody needs help at some point in life but only the courageous seek help. Seeking help, according to her, is not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength and encouraged the students to “be the courage”.

The event was graced with a special song from the Evangelical Union, CCHE and the dedicatory prayer for the MoU was pronounced by Rev Dr Vetso Koza, Associate Pastor, CCHE.
