Capital complex SBI branch, Khm opened

Kohima, March 26 (DIPR): The Capital Complex SBI Branch, Kohima was inaugurated by General Manager, NW-II Guwahati, SBI, Farooque Shahab at the Directorate of Treasuries & Accounts building on March 22 who also unveiled the monolith at the building premises to commemorate the event.

The chief guest in his speech asserted that the opening of the Capital Complex Branch was a step in the direction of SBI’s commitment to provide best banking services to the people of Nagaland. He lauded the Directorate of Treasuries & Accounts for envisaging the architectural design of the building to accommodate the aforesaid banking branch and reiterated its objective to cater to the needs of the customers in the most professional manner.

Director, Directorate of Treasuries & Accounts, K. Tiayanger Tzudir, guest of honour, expressed elation of the department in witnessing the opening of the third treasury transacting branch in Kohima after a wait of 3-4 years; the two other branches being Lerie Branch and Kohima Main Branch. He appreciated the pro-people effort of the SBI who has been shouldering the responsibility of government transactions ever since the inception of the State in 1963. He mentioned that currently SBI provides the banking infrastructure to all the 11 District Treasuries in Nagaland and appealed the same to extend its banking operation to the treasuries in smaller town, particularly places like Changtongya, which houses a treasury but has not witnessed the penetration of efficient banking service of SBI. Tzudir also expressed the current space constraint at the Directorate to house both the treasury and banking operation. The completion of the proposed building by the government for separate banking operation would entail optimistic provision of services by both entities to the customers, he said. Despite resource constraint, the government also plans separate construction of banks at District Treasuries by next financial year.

The Capital Complex Branch will now cater to 60% of the State Government’s financial transaction with currently 18 directorates in the capital complex to benefit from its establishment and the upcoming directorates still under construction.
