‘Career Guidance and Counseling’ held in Lakhuti

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 7 (MExN): The Lakhuti Students’ Union (LKSU) organized a ‘Career Guidance and Counseling’ programme on January 6 at its Village Community Hall.
The programme was held in collaboration with Directorate of Employment, Skill development and Entrepreneurship, District Employment Office Wokha, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Emporium Skill Training Institute.
The event had an attendance of more than Hundred Students from Lakhuti as well as Sanis and Akuk Village. It commenced with an invocation Prayer by Oben Patton, Associate Pastor (LBC). After which, Lidemo Yanthan, in his Presidential Address, welcomed and expressed immense gratitude to all the well wishers for the support and love through different means on behalf of the Lakhuti Students’ Union (Lk.S.U).
Speaking at the event, as a Resource person, Zubemo Lotha Tsanglao, Asst. Director, Directorate of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Government of Nagaland, accompanied by Zuthunglo Ezung, District Employment Officer, Wokha, under the topic, ‘Discover your Career after Class 10 & 12’, expressed his concerns on the non availability of government jobs for all the educated youths of the state. He further encouraged the assembly to focus more on skill based training courses and professions. In addition, he enlightened the participants with valuable information on different jobs, career, exams, scholarships and Education Loans that are complied by his department through various channels.
The students also witnessed an artsy presentation by Anirban Mukherjee, Operations Manager, India & Overseas, Emporium Skill Training Institute, accompanied by Vinitoli Awomi, Aviation Trainer and Ruth Jamir, Hospitality Trainer, Emporium Skill Training Institute.
Mukherjee, an experienced trainer and a change maker, stressed on the importance of values such as skills, hard work, patience, smartness, decision making, physical and mental health etc. of an individual. Educating the Students on jobs in ‘Hospitality and Aviation Sectors’, he encouraged them to balance academics with skills and other aspects that would keep an individual apart from the rest of the crowd. He further highlighted the upcoming training programmes and Recruitment activities at Emporium Skill Training Institute and other government affiliated employment programmes.
