CAU Vice Chancellor Dr Anupam Mishra launched the Agro Eco Tourism Park on August 6.

JALUKIE, AUGUSTU 10 (MExN): The College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Central Agricultural University CAU (I), Jalukie, marked its ninth foundation day on August 6 with the launch of a one-year paravet certificate course and the inauguration of an Agro Eco Tourism Park.

The paravet course, launched by CAU Vice Chancellor Dr Anupam Mishra in the presence of Peren Deputy Commissioner Hiazu Meru, ICAR-NRC on Mithun Director Dr Girish Patil, and College Dean Dr I. Shakuntala, has enrolled 34 participants. In his keynote address, Dr Mishra said paraveterinarians play a crucial role in transforming rural animal healthcare. He described the course as a strategic intervention to develop skilled and educated youth, and called for the development of need-based skill courses such as AI-based machine learning and IoT applications to enhance animal healthcare practices.

Earlier, Dr Shakuntala, in her welcome speech, outlined the institution’s achievements since its inception in 2016. Meru stressed the need to improve marketing chains in the agriculture and allied sectors to strengthen the economy. Dr Patil highlighted the importance of expanding artificial insemination and vaccination coverage in the livestock sector to meet the needs of a growing population.
