Kohima, July 2 (MExN): The Youth Week organised by the Youth Department of Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers' Hill, Kohima (CBCMHK) under the theme ‘examine your faith’ concluded on July 2 coinciding with Nagaland Baptist Church Council and Chakhesang Baptist Church Council's ‘youth day of prayer’ at the CBCMHK.

Speaking on the theme, CBCMHK Associate Pastor, Asüne Swüro said that believers are to inspect closely whether they are living in faith and examine their motives, actions, and current condition of their heart. Believers should avoid things that their faith does not approve of and take care of the spiritual health which is very important. “Examine your faith and works through the perspective of God,” she said and urged them “to abide in God as without the help of God, one cannot examine themselves.”

CBCMHK, Youth Director Rakodu Nukhu while delivering message in the afternoon devotional service, challenged the youth members to examine the covenant that they have had with the Lord in their life.

He said that faith is based on the covenant and told them to base their faith on the covenant, that is, through the blood of Jesus Christ, to be able to stand in faith. “Covenant is our light and we are called to carry this covenant forward,” he said.

In this race of life, one is seeking reward but as Christians, the reward comes from the Lord. He cautioned the youth on basing their faith in other things and challenged them to base their faith through the blood of Jesus Christ.

Earlier, CBCMHK senior pastor and pastor in charge of youth, Rev Dr Vevo Phesao led the congregation into the prayer for youths.

About 250 youth members participated in the Youth Week, which commenced on July 27. The weeklong event witnessed wide varieties of activities and competitions with band performance as culmination of competitions.

Some of the upcoming events of the youth department include prayer and fasting programme, ladies service, youth marathon, youth revival, and sports fellowship. Over 600 youth members have been enrolled under the youth department so far, Media and Publicity Committee CBCMHK added in a press release.
