The Centre Chakhesang Youth Organization (CCYO) on October 12 commenced the second phase of indefinite agitation following government’s failure to fulfil three-point demands submitted to the Chief Minister through a formal ultimatum. The CCYO stated that the ultimatum was issued with the expectation that the government would take the necessary steps to address the concerns and demands raised by the organisation within the stipulated period.
“However, as the demands remained unfulfilled, the CCYO proceeded with its planned course of action, initiating a non-cooperation movement as a means of expressing its dissatisfaction and pressing the government to respond to the issues raised,” it stated.

The first phase of the agitation took place at midnight on October 5, when the CCYO announced the lifting of the ban on hunting as part of its non-cooperation movement. Subsequently, as there was no satisfactory fulfilment of its demands, the organisation moved forward with the second phase of its agitation, which commenced on October 12 through peaceful picketing at the Pfutsero Range Office, Phek Range Office, and Phek Forest Office.
The CCYO took a traditional march to the offices as a sign of its second phase of agitation. The picketing was carried out in a peaceful manner. The CCYO maintained that the submission of the ultimatum and the subsequent phases of agitation are intended to draw the government's attention to the seriousness of the issues raised and the need for timely intervention.
The organisation urged the government to acknowledge its three-point demands, initiate meaningful dialogue with the concerned representatives, and take concrete steps towards resolving the matter without further delay.

The CCYO appealed all its members, participants, and the public to remain united, maintain peace and discipline, and uphold democratic values throughout the course of the agitation.
CCYO President Dode Nakro and General Secretary Shevoto Vezuh hoped that the government will recognise the concerns expressed through this democratic movement and take the necessary measures to resolve the matter in the larger interest of the people and the community.
