Dimapur, December 17 (MExN): The Central Team for COVID-19 visited Dimapur district to review the district’s COVID-19 activities and to support the district in public health measures and clinical management of COVID-19 on December 13.
A DIPR report stated that the team had a meeting with the Dimapur District Task Force on COVID-19 led by Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur. He highlighted the issues related to Dimapur as it is the gateway of the State and neighbouring states like Manipur, so maximum effort was needed by all the departments involved. He highlighted how the District handled COVID-19 with support from the Sub-Divisional level Committees for COVID19 and faith-based organizations and communities.
Dr Imtiwabong, District Surveillance Officer and Dr Keveduyi, Medical Superintendent, District hospital Dimapur presented the District COVID-19 activities and COVID Hospital activities respectively since January till date.
The team visited District Hospital Dimapur and COVID Care Center Chumukedima after the meeting. The Team included Dr SR Karmakar, Sr Public Health Specialist, All India Institute of Hygiene & Public Health, Kolkata and Dr Mohd Jamil, Associate Professor Medicine, NEIGRHIMS, Shillong.
The program was chaired by Dr. Nyan, State Nodal Officer, IDSP and other officials attending the programe were Dr Antoly Suu, Dy CMO, Dr Temsu, Pathologist, Dr Toska, Dr Bano, Dr Benchilo, Dr Rebecca, Dr Longri, Dr Ron, Dr Narola and IDSP Dimapur Staff.
