Former Kyong Hoho Chairman Nyanbemo Ngullie no more
Dimapur, May 3 (MExN): Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio has mourned the demise of Nyanbemo Ngullie, Advisor Kyong Hoho, who died today, May 3 at his residence in Wokha after prolonged illness. He was 71 years-old.
In a condolence note, he stated that late Nyanbemo was a well known social worker and a prominent public leader, of N Longidang Village. “...the Kyong Hoho and the Nagas Society have indeed lost a very capable leader, who was known for his honesty, down to earth nature, self sacrifice, dedication and sincerity,” he stated.
The chief minister along with his wife conveyed heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and pray to God Almighty to give them strength and solace at this hour of grief and sorrow. “May the departed soul rest in eternal peace.”
Also, the chief minister in the note stated a summary of late Nyanbemo Ngullie’s accomplishments as a social worker. Late Nyanbemo Ngullie was born was born in March 1941. After, his graduation in 1972, he entered “public life” and served as the joint secretary in the United Democratic Front (UDF) party from 1974 to 1990 and subsequently as the general secretary Lotha Hoho from 1980 to 1990.
A staunch regional party leader, late Nyanbemo Ngullie was one of the founding members of the Naga Hoho. He was elected as the president, Nagaland People’s Convention (NPC) on 1990, and served as the chairman of Kyong Hoho from November 1999-2009, before he became the advisor of Kyong Hoho, a post he held until he breath his last.
In a separate note, the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) has expressed its grief over the demise of its ardent member late Nyambemo Ngullie. The Convenor of FNR, Rev Dr. Wati Aier stated in the note: “He was a friend of the Nagas - stalwart companion, the sturdiest of allies, firmest of friends. We travelled together the “Journey of Common Hope” of the Nagas for the last three years. What a pilgrimage of faith in Christ! Our dear friend Nyambemo Ngullie who by the very gift of the Creator was a passionate leader was one of the strongest voices for Naga reconciliation. He was faithful not just until death but unto death! With his demise FNR has lost a strong support. During this difficult time of loss, we pray the Spirit of God will grant peace that passes all understanding especially to his beloved wife and children with the assurance of Jesus Christ that He is the resurrection and the life and in Him we have that promise.”
The Naga Hoho also mourned the demise of its founding member late Nyanbemo Ngullie. “He was one of the pioneers in formation and the making of Naga Hoho today. A man who dedicated his entire life for the service of the people and society is a perfect example to follow and learn a lesson from,” the hoho stated in a condolence note.
The hoho also stated that late Nyambemo Ngulliewas a fatherly figure and advisor of Kyong Hoho till date and “in his death Nagas have not only lost an honest but a decent Naga senior citizen who never hesitated to help and promote the welfare of the Naga people till his last breath. The entire Naga populace pays tributes to late Mr. Nyanbemo Ngulie for the life that he has led and leading the Nagas towards attaining their rightful place.” Naga Hoho has extended its sincere and deepest condolences to the near and dear ones.
