Chiephobozou witnesses launch of several development events

Nagaland’s Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio inaugurated Northern Angami Mechü Ki (Northern Angami Multipurpose Hall) here at Chiephobozou on November 13.

Speaking on the occasion, Rio called upon the public to make the best use of the newly constructed building, which is one of the biggest community buildings in the Northern Angami area of Kohima district. He wanted to see that this building bring the people of the Northern Angami together and usher better understanding and unity among them.

Rio was hopeful the Ministry of Tribal Affairs would soon sanction the remaining amount of Rs 1 crore to facilitate some incomplete portion of the building.

He also informed the people on the latest status of the proposed Chiethu Airport, which has capacity of four and half kilometre runway. He called upon the people to have a comprehensive plan as once the Airport is got through; Chiephobozou will become a commercial town and benefit one and all.  

Tokheho Yepthomi, MP (Lok Sabha), Temjen Imna Along, president  Nagaland state BJP and Minister For Higher & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Dr Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire, Advisor Urban Development and Municipal Affairs and Vekhoyi Chakhesang, Additional Deputy Commissioner Chiephobozou also spoke at the function.

Early, a brief history of Northern Angami Mechü Ki was given by Dr Neiphrezo Keditsu.

The programme was chaired by Northern Angami Public Organization (NAPO) president Zeneituo Yano while welcome address was delivered by Neichütuo Rio, chairman Chiephobozou Town Council.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Kekhriengulie Theünuo.

Earlier, Rio flagged off the launching programme of Mobile Skill Morung and Multi Skilled Handyman at Chiephobozou.

Jubilation was also doing the round as Dr Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire, Advisor Urban Development and Municipal Affairs formally unveiled the formal recognition of Chiephobozou Town Council in the presence of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

Imnatiba, Advisor Industries & Commerce, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship also inaugurated Sub District Industries Centre at Chiephobozou.

Later, V Kashiho Sangtam, Minister for Soil and Water Conservation, Geology and Mining and NSDMC Ltd inaugurated the Sub Divisional office of Soil Conservation at Chiephobozou.
