Childline Advisory Board meeting held in Mon district

Mon, February 4 (MExN): The Mon Childline Advisory Board (CAB) held a meeting on February 2 at DC Office conference room, Mon town under the chairmanship of DC Mon, Thavaseelan K.

Mon Childline team delivered a presentation about the basic concept and functioning of the programme and its achievements since its inception.

According to the report, one child abuse case was received by the team and support was provided to 28 families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Childline team also made an appeal to all the line departments to help them in their various capacities so as to make the programme more visible and efficient.

DC Mon addressed all the issues raised by the team and assured full cooperation and support to resolve the same.
The meeting was attended by officers of various departments and members of the Board. 

Childline Mon is part of a National Programme which was launched in Mon on August 2020, to assist, aid and rescue children in distress through a 24/7 toll free number 1098.

Childline teams on receiving a distress call arrives at the destination within 60 minutes and depending on the case, rehabilitation and constant follow up on the well-being of the child is provided. Childline reaches out to children from 0-18 years of age and in extreme emergency cases, up to 25 years of age, a DIPR report informed.
