Kohima, December 18 (MExN): The Chizami Village Council (CVC) has celebrated its Golden Jubilee on December 16 last at Chizami under Phek district.

"Progress, prosperity and success is a measure and reflection of the entire society not only leaders" said Visielie Kezo, Commissioner & Secretary for Finance, Nagaland while speaking on the occasion as the speaker.

He asserted that Jubilee is a time of remembrance, celebration, kindness, generosity and forgiveness.

It is celebrated so that gratitude is not lost in our hearts. He also congratulated the Council for publishing the Customary Laws.

He called upon everyone to introspect whether we are being relevant to the situation in which one live in.

He encouraged everyone to use the different talents, skills and gifts that God has given to each one and help and give back to the community.

CVC chairman Kewepelo Tsuhah acknowledged the pioneers, the community who contributed to the growth, progress and development of Chizami.

‘Let us together transform Chizami to a new environment where there is love, kindness, positivity and sustainability,” he said.

Greeting was shared by Kelhizülo Mero (Former VCC).

Other highlights of the celebration included; unveiling of the Jubilee monolith, dedicatory prayer by Lhikhalo Akami (Head GB),release of Chizami Customary Laws (Book), a beautiful articulation of ‘My beloved Chizami’ by Wemhezo-u Wetsah, ‘Seso Are Bojü’ an original song by Mechütheza Kedo, folk dance by Chizami Youth Society and  bamboo climbing competition.

The programme was chaired by Pupetso Wezah while concluding remarks was given by Webei Wezah.
