Chümoukedima DC orders clearance of highways, public spaces

Chümoukedima, November 28 (MExN): Chümoukedima Deputy Commissioner Polan John, NCS, has on Friday issued directives to the Town and Village Councils under Chümoukedima district.

According to a press update received here, it has directed the councils to remove all forms of impediments, encroachments, obstructions along the stretch of the National Highway and all public spaces, stating, ‘the respective authorities should ensure that off road vehicles parked along public roads are removed.’

At the same time, it has also directed the councils to clear all construction materials, debris and wastes lying along the public roads, and has further directed the removal of unused electrical and telephone lines, wire, cables, plastic pipes, including damaged banners, flags and signage. 

Likewise, it has directed the councils to remove and clear pigsties, poultry sheds and unhygienic and illegal structures along public roads, while ensuring relocation and proper management of stray animals, cattle and dogs. 

Furthermore, it has asked the councils to trim the overgrown bushes and foliage obstructing visibility along the NH and public space, while encouraging the white washing, painting and decoration of shops.

It directed the respective area administrative officers/E0s and town councils to ensure strict compliance under their respective jurisdictions on or before November 30.
