Dimapur, November 11 (MExN): A collective of senior leaders of Chümoukedima town, Chümoukedima village and Chümoukedima ‘A’ village in consultation and coordination with the Chümoukedima Chamber of Commerce and Trade Association (CCCTA) adopted a few resolutions to promote the business community and protect public interest.
According to a joint press release received on Thursday, a consultative meeting between the senior leaders and the CCCTA was held on November 2, during which the resolutions were adopted.
It said that the house resolved to prohibit and discourage “mushrooming up of new trade union(s)/association(s), in order to avoid Chümoukedima area from becoming ‘Land of Union,’ [sic]” and requested the administration to note the same. In order to assist and encourage aspiring local entrepreneurs, create employment avenues and to make Chümoukedima a ‘green pasture’ for local youth to flourish, the house also resolved to award the ‘Best Upcoming Local Entrepreneur’ annually.
Further, the house while acknowledging the CCCTA for their efforts, also entrusted the Association to maintain statistics of commercial and business enterprises within its jurisdiction and to keep a check on any illegal practices like adulteration of products and monopoly or syndicate systems in the markets.
