Dimapur, April 28 (MExN): In view of the State Government's decision to impose lockdown from April 30 to May 14, the Naga Tribal Union Chümoukedima Town (NTUCT) and Chümoukedima Chamber of Commerce and Trade Association (CCCTA) have issued a public advisory.
In a press release, the organisations cautioned all the shops that are selling daily essentials and other basic needs not take advantage of the pandemic to hoard items or hike their rates. It warned of heavy punishment would be imposed if any business man is found indulging in such activities.
It also advised the public not to flock to the market for unnecessary panic buying as there is sufficient stock of food.
The organisations further called upon the town council administrator to strictly enforce laid down norms and SOPs during the lockdown period with the help of sufficient police force and frontline workers. The NTUCT and CCCTA are ever ready to assist the local administration for this purpose whenever called upon, it added.
Further, all GBs and ward chairpersons have been requested to identify and strictly monitor persons coming from outside and ensure that they self-isolated for at least 10 days if no COVID-19 negative test report is produced on arrival. The public were also advised to remain at home and go out only in cases of emergency case.
Stating that wearing of mask is mandatory, it informed that a fine of Rs 100 would be imposed for non compliance, while calling upon the public to cooperate for the sake of safety to self as well as others.
