Chümoukedima Town Council informs butchers

Chümoukedima, May 12 (MExN): The Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) has informed all butchers under its jurisdiction that every butcher shop has to mandatorily put up signboard clearly indicating the prices of all items as fixed by CTC along with the Trade License and CTC Helpline numbers.  The final notice is based on the decision agreed upon at a meeting held with the Chümoukedima Town Butchers’ Union, stated a press release from CTC Administrator and EAC Chümoukedima, Er Seyiekhrietuo Solo.

It is also reiterated that CTC Inspectors will be carrying out intensive checks on not just the quality of the meat items being sold but also the standards of cleanliness/hygienic conditions of the shops/butchers, it said. Random sampling of the meat items may be carried out for necessary food safety tests and defaulters would be penalised as per the standing order issued by the CTC office, it added.

The CTC also requested public to inform the CTC office in case of any discrepancies being noticed either regarding the prices of items or the condition of the meat items/the maintenance of health and hygiene by the butchers. Complainants may either call or Whatsapp the CTC Helpline Number displayed on the board at every shop, it added.
